In 2018, the Wemyss League finals were held at Leslie Bowling Club. Windygates Bowling Club took a strong representation to the finals – competing in the pairs, with Jack Smith and John Lawson, the senior pairs, with Bill Lamont and Sandy Doctor and the rink tournament, with Billy Laing, George Cunningham, Keith MacMillan and Bruce McCall.
The senior pairs came up against Thornton’s Tam McKee and Brian Fleming on an end rink, and after a tough battle, came out on top to secure the first of the Windygates trophies on the day. The pairs came up against Kinglassie and managed to build up a comfortable lead before coming out on top to secure the second of the club’s trophies. All that remained was Bruce McCall’s rink, who were playing a tough Buckhaven side, skipped by Gary Reilly. In a tough tussle, it came down to the last bowl, with Bruce driving out the winning bowl to secure the third title of the day for Windygates.
