Volunteers have been the life and soul of our club since we opened back in 1909 with our volunteer committee members traditionally taking on the bulk of the work to keep the club going.

The Windygates ‘Volunteer Team’ was created in March 2020 by committee member, Bruce McCall to support both the members and the growth of the club. The team encourages all of our members to come together as one, whilst completing simple but necessary tasks around the club.

We currently have 14 volunteers, on top of our regular committee, who volunteer their time to help at the club every week. Work includes painting, strimming, weeding and general repairs.

Since starting the team, we have learned that volunteering is not just about benefits to the club – volunteers also gain a lot from connecting with other people, making new friends, the social aspects, team building, health benefits, and much more.

Volunteer Sandy says:

“Volunteering makes you feel a part of the club and allowed me to make new friends that I may never have met otherwise”

We would love you to join our team, and invite both members and non-members to come along and join in the fun. Find out more on our volunteer page.
