In 2019, the Windygates Fours team of Jack Smith, Blair Fleming, Bruce McCall and Christopher Stein (Skip) were successful in qualifying for the Scottish Finals at Ayr. On the route to the finals, they successfully beat notable teams, including Anstruther, Markinch and Newburgh Bowling Club before going on to beat St Andrews Bowling club in the district final at St Andrews Bowling Club.

In the Scottish Finals, Windygates faced a formidable opponent in the first round in the shape of Gordon Bowling Club, who had an excellent run in the fours the previous year, reaching the semi-final. In a close encounter, Windygates managed to scrape through 18-17 to progress to Round 2. The next two rounds saw similarly tight matches against Lilybank and Rutherglen, with Windygates edging both games by 2 shot victories.

The semi-final saw Windygates play a strong Craigentinny Four, skipped by Andy Caldwell, previous Scottish Champion in the Junior Singles and Triples. On the day, Windygates held more than enough shots to win the game, but the Craigentinny skip was on excellent form and played some great conversion shots to end the Windygates run, 10-17.

The Windygates team, although disappointed, were proud of their Bronze Medal in their first year playing together, and look forward to competing again as a four in the years to come.
